MASTER ENVIRONMENT AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

OVERVIEW This program is designed such that the graduates can further apply the acquired scientific and critical thinking skills to conduct research in their own workplace with minimal supervision to produce evidenced based decision. Students will be exposed to the multi-disciplinary aspects of Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health which includes but not limited to the global and local policy and legislation, toxicology, industrial hygiene, human factors and ergonomics, research methodology, management system and engineering aspects in the management of Environmental and Occupational Health. Thereon, should the lifelong learning process pique their interests, the students can opt to further their study to doctoral level.   OBJECTIVES The objectives of the program are: To produce management level officer who are competent and capable in leading the field of Environmental and Occupational Health through services, research and lifelong learning; To produce management level officer with skills and knowledge in the management of Environmental and Occupational Health; To produce creative and innovative management level officer in Environmental and Occupational Health who are sensitive and responsible to the society and environmental sustainability.   CURICULUM STRUCTURE This is a 3-semesters program (1.5 years). The teaching and learning medium is English. Students are required to complete 43 credit hours distributed as follow:  - Core Courses =  15 credit hours (5 subjects) - Specialization Courses =  15 credit hours (5 subjects) - Elective courses = 6 credit hours (2 subjects) - Research Project = 7 credit hours - Total  = 43 credit hours    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS  Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA of at least 2.750 or equivalent in any related field of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics), Engineering and Allied Health; OR Candidates who have a Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA between 2.50 - 2.749 or equivalent in any related field of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics), Engineering and Allied Health may be considered after passing an internal assessment that neat; Or Candidates who have a Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA between 2.000-2.499 or equivalent in any related field of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics), Engineering and Allied Health may be considered if they have at least 5 years of working experience in the field of Environmental and Occupational Health after obtaining the Bachelor's Degree Language Requirement (applicable to International Applicants): International applicants must have obtained a minimum score of 550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version) or Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training), or 79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test or 213 for TOEFL Computer-based Test or its equivalent.  The validity period should not be more than five years.   FEES Fees for local student and international student are available at the following document: https://sgs.upm.edu.my/content/tuition_fees-40583   Refer to the following document for guidance to the application: https://sgs.upm.edu.my/upload/dokumen/20210305103902UPM_POSTGRADUATE_APPLICATION_GUIDE_4.3.2021.pdf     CONTACT INFORMATION Program coordinator : Dr. Nor Eliani Ezani Email : masterkpp.medic@upm.edu.my Website: http://www.medic.upm.edu.my/   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION   Brochure for prospective students.
