SUBANG JAYA: The Malaysian Chinese Women Entrepreneurs Association (MCWEA) marked its 10th anniversary with a dinner at Sunway Resort Hotel, Bandar Sunway here tonight.
With the theme "10 Years of Excellent Enhancement", the 8.30pm event was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and attended by MCWEA president Datin Seri Jessie Wong and its deputy president, Lenny Chiah.
The dinner saw 22 women entrepreneurs receive MCWEA Women of Excellence Awards for their outstanding contributions to the corporate sector.
They included Hernan Corporation group chief executive officer Anna Teo, Associate Professor Dr Chee Hui Yee from Universiti Putra Malaysia's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, VKids Trend managing director Datuk Dr Denise Lim and Green Wellness Malaysia managing director Datin Dorph Peng.
Wong said the anniversary dinner and awards were aimed at looking back and reflecting on the association's achievements.
"To all award winners, thank you for being brilliant role models to all women entrepreneurs."
Chiah said: "At MCWEA, we live by our core values of integrity, good relationships with our stakeholders and resilience in managing challenges.
"This anniversary is an excellent opportunity to celebrate and boost our existence and reaffirm our core values, aswell as strengthen our bond to move forward."
