DOCTOR OF MEDICINE

Department of Paediatric offers the following modules for the Medical Doctor Programme:

a)  SPK 3941 : INTRODUCTORY PAEDIATRICS (YEAR 4)

This course encompasses introduction to general paediatrics, basic skills of history taking and reinforcement of basic examination techniques in the context of paediatric patients. The student may also be exposed to various disciplines of paediatric subspecialities and community-based maternal and child health centre.

b)  SPK 4942 : SENIOR PAEDIATRICS (YEAR 5)

The course encompasses history taking, physical examination of paediatric patients, rational approach on investigation as well as management of clinical problems and therapeutic procedures in the clinics and general paediatric wards. The course also covers area of neonatology.

MASTER OF MEDICINE (PAEDIATRICS)

The first session of Master programme has been started in November 2012.

Duration                            : 4 years 

Pre-requisite/entry criteria  :

1. Must possess a degree in MBBS or MD or equivalent from a university approved by the senate.
2. Passed the Pre-enrollment Exam (Phase One Exam) not more than 2 years from the entry into the programme.
3. Must have at least 2 years of certifiable clinical experience following registration with the Malaysian Medical Council
   (MMC) & be registered with MMC.
4. Other requirements as stated by Universiti Putra Malaysia.
