MEHSSA UPM – Japan Mobility Program 2020 was held from 12th to 25th of January, and was participated by 10 students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK), Universiti Putra Malaysia. They were accompanied by Dr. Shaharuddin bin Mohd Sham, mobility coordinator for the faculty. This 14-day program included visits to a few places, including the University of Tsukuba, Kanagawa Prefectural Yokohama Senior High School of International Studies (YIS) and Hamura R&D Center of Casio Computer Co. Ltd.
At the University of Tsukuba, participants were introduced to the Humanics and Human Biology Program offered by the university. The participants also participated in cultural exchanges with local students at YIS including a demonstration on wearing kain batik, ketupat weaving, and traditional dances. A presentation by Mr. Kikuo Ibe, engineer and creator of G-SHOCK watches was held at Hamura R&D Center before the group went to the quality assurance control section, among others. In addition, participants had first-time experience of the local Japanese culture in the countryside in Odate City, Akita.
