Safe Kids Malaysia Universiti Putra Malaysia was recognized in championing the SDG Goal No 3

December 12th 2019. Petaling Jaya Citi Council organized their annual PETALING JAYA SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY AWARDS 2019 with a theme ‘Localizing Sustainable Development Goals’. During this event MBPJ recognizes institutions and organisations who champions SDGs in their programs implemented in Petaling Jaya. On that ground, Safe Kids Malaysia Universiti Putra Malaysia was recognized in championing the SDG Goal No 3 on Good Health and Well Being through its flagship program MOTORCYCLE CHILD SAFETY HELMET INITIATIVE run in primary schools in Petaling Jaya. Safe Kids Malaysia UPM initiative in specific addresses SDG3.6 (halve road deaths and injuries by 50% in 2020 as well as SDG 11.2 in providing a safe transport for children by 2030). Associate Professor Dr. Kulanthayan KC Mani, Executive Director of Safe Kids Malaysia UPM received the award and RM3000 cheque from the Mayor of Petaling Jaya Dato Mohd Sayuthi Bakar in Dewan Sivik, PJ. Accompanying him to receive the award was the Child Helmet Initiative Program Manager Dr. Nurrul Hafeezah Sahak and Prof. Dr. Mansor Talib representing Urban Community Transformation Centre (UCTC), UPM.
