1.  How do I submit my manuscript to MJMHS?
  All manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/mjmhs. Submissions via email are not accepted.

2.  What is the Article Processing Charge (APC)?
   The Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles is as follows:

RM300 – for submissions before 1 July 2025
RM500 – for submissions on or after 1 July 2025

Payment is required only after acceptance of the manuscript.
📌 Note: There is no submission fee for sending a manuscript to MJMHS.


3.  How can I make a payment?
  Once your paper has been accepted, please email the editorial office at mjmhs@upm.edu.my to request the payment details and invoice. Payment should be made according to the official instructions provided by the MJMHS Editorial Office.

4.  Do you offer fee waivers or discounts?
  No. MJMHS does not provide waivers or discounts for publication fees. The APC applies uniformly to all accepted manuscripts, whether local and international.

 5.   Do you accept submissions from international authors?
  Yes. MJMHS welcomes submissions from both Malaysian and international authors across all areas of medicine and health sciences.        

 6.  What is the average review and publication timeline?
 
  • Submission to first decision: approximately 6–9 weeks
  • Acceptance to publication: approximately 6–9 months, depending on the production schedule

7.   Can I request early publication or fast-track processing?
  No. MJMHS follows a standard peer-review and production schedule to maintain fairness and quality. Requests for early acceptance or expedited publication cannot be accommodated.

 8.  How do I know if my topic fits within MJMHS’s scope?
  MJMHS covers a wide range of topics related to medicine, health sciences, and public health. If you are unsure, you may email your abstract to mjmhs@upm.edu.my for preliminary assessment of suitability.

 9.  How can I become a reviewer or editor for MJMHS?
   If you wish to serve as a reviewer or editor, please email your updated CV and a brief statement of interest to mjmhs@upm.edu.my. Your application will be reviewed by the Editorial Board based on your field of expertise and experience.

 10.  What should I do if my Turnitin similarity report is high?
 

If the similarity is due to overlap with your thesis or institutional repository, please include an explanatory note in the Acknowledgment section (e.g., “This paper is based on a dissertation submitted to [University Name] in partial fulfillment of the requirements for [Degree Name].”).

If the similarity is due to direct quotations, please ensure that all quotations are enclosed in double quotation marks and accompanied by the correct citation and page number in accordance with Vancouver Style (e.g., “Social interest is defined as ‘individuals’ innate capacity to fulfill a sense of belonging…’” [1, p. 807]).

If the similarity is due to a preprint version, please include an acknowledgment and provide the link to the preprint in the Acknowledgment section (e.g., “Our initial findings are available as a preprint at https://preprints.jmir.org/preprint/40535.”).

If the similarity is due to conference presentations, please include a disclosure note in the Acknowledgment section indicating when and where the study was presented (e.g., “Portions of this study were presented at the 5th USIM International Health Conference, Nilai, Malaysia, September 13–14, 2022.”).

If the similarity is due to overlap with your thesis or institutional repository, please include an explanatory note in the Acknowledgment section (e.g., “This paper is based on a dissertation submitted to [University Name] in partial fulfillment of the requirements for [Degree Name].”).


 11.  Are there publication fees for special or supplementary issues?
  Publication fees apply only to regular issue submissions.
Special or supplementary issues (e.g., conference collaborations) are exempted from APC, unless stated otherwise by the Editorial Office.

12.   How can I check the status of my manuscript?
 

You may log in to your account at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/mjmhs to track your manuscript’s progress.
Common status terms include:

  • Awaiting Reviewer Scores – reviewers are assessing your paper.
  • Awaiting AE Recommendation – the Associate Editor is finalizing their recommendation.
