International Day of Action for Women's Health 2024
The International Day of Action for Women's Health was founded on May 28, 1987, by the Latin American and Caribbean Women's Health Network (LACWHN) and Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR). Each year, the two networks create Calls for Action, focusing on a different facet of women's health to continue the campaign. The goal is to raise public knowledge of women's rights about their sexual and reproductive health and the ongoing problems of violence, coercion, discrimination, and disregard for women's autonomy.
In essence, women are empowered to make decisions and are provided with safe spaces by the political and economic structures that shape our society, as well as the supportive individuals in their communities.
