Academic Programme

Undergraduate Program:

The Department of Dietetics offers undergraduate programs which is Bachelor of Science Dietetics with Honours. The program was first offered at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in the First Semester of the 2005/2006 Academic Session, with a study duration of four (4) years (8 semesters). The Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with Honours program encompasses a comprehensive curriculum aimed at producing well-trained and professional graduates in the fields of clinical nutrition, institutional food service management, and community nutrition as well as emerging fields for this profession.

Since its introduction, the faculty has conducted three (3) curriculum reviews, the first curriculum review was implemented beginning in the 2011/2012 session. The most recent review carried out in 2023/2024 session. The review of the Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with Honours program was conducted to meet the requirements recommended by the dietetics program curriculum standards under the Allied Health Professions Act 2016 (AHP) and the Programme Standards: Medical and Health Sciences 2016, developed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

For the second curriculum review, the program is still ongoing from the 2018/2019 session until the 2026/2027 session.
