The Department of Medical Microbiology  was established on 1 June 2006 to conduct studies and research in the field of medical microbiology and parasitology for medical and health sciences students. TThe mission of the department is to provide essential knowledge and understanding for medical and health sciences students. The department serves the teaching mission of the university by educating undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, entomology and also on host-pathogen interactions. Besides its involvement in the clinical settings,it is also active in scientific research.
