The department conducts a number of uptrend researches in the field of medical microbiology and parasitology. There have been a significant number of collaborations forged between the department and other local universities, government ministries, industries and also private and public international bodies. The achievement of the department is not only portrayed by the number of graduated international and local students but also the sizable amount of research grants secured from various sources over the years. Since its inception in year 2006, the department has produced significant number of publications in citation high impact journals.
