Academic Programme

The Bachelor of Nursing program at UPM was first offered in 2004 by taking nursing diploma graduates and the duration of the program is for 2 years. Beginning in September 2012, the 4-year Bachelor of Nursing program began to be offered. In September 2014, the postgraduate program; Master Science (thesis) and PhD (thesis) in field of nursing are beginning to be offered.

Program Pre-Graduate: Bachelor of Nursing with Honours

 

All students must meet the admission requirements as follows set by MOE, UPM Senate and Malaysian Nursing Board.

 

For Local Students:

 

Minimum Qualification for STPM

Minimum Qualifications for Matriculation and Foundation

Minimum Qualification Diploma /Equivalent

Meet the General Requirements of the University

and

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

 

Obtained at least CGPA 2.75;

and

Meet the entry requirements of the Malaysian Nursing Board;

and

Obtained at least Grade C at SPM level in one (1) of the following subjects:

·          Biology/ Chemistry / Physics / Science / Applied Science;

·          Mathematics / Additional Mathematics;

·          English;

 

and

 

Obtained at least Level 3 Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English   Test (MUET) for examination effective from Session 1 Year 2021 or Band 3 for  examination until Year 2020;

 

and

Pass the interview and health screening.

Meet the General Requirements of the University

and

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

 

Obtained at least CGPA 2.75;

and

Meet the entry requirements of the Malaysian Nursing Board;

and

Obtained at least Grade C at SPM level in one (1) of the following subjects:

·          Biology/ Chemistry / Physics / Science / Applied Science;

·          Mathematics / Additional Mathematics;

·          English;

 

and

 

Obtained at least Level 3 Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English   Test (MUET) for examination effective from Session 1 Year 2021 or Band 3 for   examination until Year 2020;

 

and

Pass the interview and health screening.

Meet the General Requirements of the University

and

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

 

Possess a Diploma in a suitable field or other qualifications recognized by the UPM   Senate with a minimum GPA of 2.75 (no credit transfer);

 

or

 

Possess a Diploma in Nursing recognized by the Malaysian Nursing Board and the UPM Senate with at least a CGPA of 2.75 and two (2) years of working experience   in the nursing field (credit transfer allowed);

and

Have the latest Annual Practice Certificate from the Malaysian Nursing Board;           

and

Have fulfilled the Malaysia Nursing Board (MNB) requirements;                                                                                                                                                             

 

and

Have obtained a minimum of grade C at SPM level or its equivalent in one (1)   of   the following subjects:

·          Biology/ Chemistry / Physics / Science / Applied Science;

·          Mathematics / Additional Mathematics;

·          English;

 

and

Obtained at least Level 3 Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English   Test (MUET) for examination effective from Session 1 Year 2021 or Band 3 for   examination until Year 2020;

and

Pass the interview and health screening.

 

 

For International Students:

  • TOEFL 515/215/80 ;
  • Cambridge English Advance (CAE);
  • Cambridge English Profiency (CPE); Pearson Test of English (PTE); 

and

Pass the interview and health screening.

Meet the General Requirements of the University

and

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

 

Obtained at least CGPA 2.75/4.00;

and

Meet the entry requirements of the Malaysian Nursing Board;

and

Obtained at least Grade C at SPM level in one (1) of the following subjects:

·          Biology/ Chemistry / Physics / Science / Applied Science;

·          Mathematics / Additional Mathematics;

·          English;

and

Meet the General Requirements of the University

and

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

 

Have obtained a Diploma from recognised Institutions with at least a CGPA of  2.75/4.00; 

and

Have fulfilled the Malaysia Nursing Board (MNB) requirements;

and 

 Obtain Diploma in the relevant field approved by the UPM Senate with at least a CGPA of 2.75 (no credit transfer);

or 

Obtain Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution approved by the Malaysian   Nursing Board (MNB) with at least a CGPA of 2.75 and two (2) years of clinical working experience in nursing (credit transfer allowed);

and

 Possess Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) for nurses from MNB;

and

Have obtained a minimum of grade C at SPM level or its equivalent in one (1)   of   the following subjects:

·          Biology/ Chemistry / Physics / Science / Applied Science;

·          Mathematics / Additional Mathematics;

·          English;

and

Have obtained one (1) of the English Language Proficiency qualification as below:

  • IELTS 5.5
  • TOEFL 515/215/80
  • Cambridge English Advance (CAE);
  • Cambridge English Profiency (CPE); Pearson Test of English (PTE);

and

Pass the interview and health screening.
