SERDANG, 13 May - Coverage of the Impact of Climate Change in Malaysia to raise awareness for young people in particular and people in general by Second Year Bachelor of Science (Environmental and Occupational Health) students, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK) Universiti Putra Malaysia ( UPM). ), Muhamad Izzat bin Mohd Lotpi won the Young Environment Journalist Award Competition (Category B) by Malaysia Forest Fund. This competition was attended by approximately 500 entries. Muhamad Izzat's victory was for his effort to write about the importance of environmental health and occupational safety. His article has highlighted the importance of maintaining health and safety in the context of sustainable development and reducing environmental pollution.
The Young Environment Journalist Award competition is held annually by the Malaysia Forest Fund to encourage the involvement of young people in helping to promote environmental sustainability and reduce the effects of climate change through creative and informative article writing.
Muhamad Izzat's victory shows UPM's commitment in producing quality graduates with high environmental awareness, as well as the ability to contribute to society and the country. The winner took home RM7,000.00 in cash and the prize presentation was completed by YB Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, at the Alam Kita Carnival Ceremony at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Kota Bharu, Kelantan recently.
