Student's Leave Guide

GUIDELINES FOR LEAVE AND DEFERMENT OF THE MASTER OF MEDICINE PROGRAMS
FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCE

 

LEAVE ENTITLMENT

  • The leave entitlement is according to the Public Academic Institution’s Academic leave is the absence of a candidate
    does not exceed 42 days for each academic session (one year) i.e. 28 days of recorded leave and 14 days of sick leave. This
    includes maternity leave.
  • During the deferment period, the candidate’s leave entitlement is in accordance with the leave entitlement under
    Chapter C of General Order.
  • During the placement at the Ministry of Health (MoH) hospital/facility, the MoH Department Head may consider and
    approve the application of unrecorded leave to attend relevant courses and examinations at universities subjected to HLP's conditions.

 

DEFERMENT OF STUDY

  • Should a candidate require a deferment or extension of the duration of study, the candidate must submit a letter to the
    Dean of the Faculty through the Program Coordinator with valid reasons.
