Department of Obstetric and Gynaecology

Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) was a part of the Department of Human Growth and Development. In its early establishment, the department consisted of three main academic units namely Paediatrics Unit, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit and Clinical Genetics Unit. On June 1, 2006, the department was split into two independent departments and renamed into Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Department of Paediatrics. To date, the department consists of two units, the Obstetrics and Gynacology Unit and the Clinical Genetics Unit. The Reproductive Health and Research Centre and the Medical Genetics Laboratory are placed under the purview of the department. The department performs clinical teaching for Year 4 and Year 5 clinical students enrolled in the medical doctor programme, which takes place at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Serdang Hospital and Kajang Hospital.
